Taormina er en av de vakreste byene på Sicilia om ikke den vakreste der den ligger på en fjellside. At byen fylles av velstående turister, kan man se av de fine hotellene, restaurantene og utvalget av butikker. Selv om prisnivået er høyt, finnes det tilbud til oss som ikke har like velfyllt lommebok.

Taormina is one of the most beautiful towns on Sicily. It is situated on a hillside . It seems to be visited by wealthy tourists. We can see that from the standard of some of the hotels, restaurants, shops etc. Although it is expensive there, you will always find something that suits you.

Strender: Taormina ligger ikke ved en strand. Man har to muligheter til å finne en strand. Man kan ta en heis ned til havet og en buss derfra til en strand. Vi fikk gratis bussbillett i hotellets resepsjon. Vi var imidlertid ikke overbegeistrert over den stranden, så vi prøvde den andre stranden som ligger i Giardini -Naxos. Beaches: There is no beach in Taormina. But if you need one there are two alternatives. The first is to go by a cable car down to the sea level and then a shuttle bus to the beach. The hotel offered a free shuttle service. We did not like that s beach so much so we chose the second alternative. Take a bus from the bus station to Giardini-Naxos.There you will find a very good beach with all the services you always get on an Italian beach. Giardini-Naxos was the first Greek colony on Sicily.
